streaks boys & girls open season with 7-0 wins
Warren Hills boys & girls bowling teams each opened the season successfully on Tuesday with comfortable 7-0 wins over Watchung Hills. The match took place at Stelton Lanes in Piscataway, which doesn't normally yield a lot of high scores. Nevertheless, the Streaks held up well and got the new season off to a good start.
The boys, led by Junior Eric Lawson (189-215-233=637), shot 906-921-932=2759 in the bowl 6/count 5 format. Seniors Jake Irwin and Darryl Price contributed with 572 & 579 series, respectively, and Junior Avante Wilson added 540.
The girls' win was a team effort, which each of seven bowlers having at least one score "count". Senior Jenna Henderson led the way with a strong 213-190-227=630. Freshman Kelcie Mannon looked good in her high school debut, posting 584, while Senior Elizabeth Hudock carded a very solid 528. The team 2679 is good enough to place the girls among the top few teams in New Jersey.
