BIG GAMES HELP STREAKS SWEEP SOUTH
A trio of Blue Streaks fired games over 260 on Tuesday as both the boys & girls teams cruised to 7-0 victories, picking up several season- and career-highs along the way.
Two of the three big games were bowled on the girls side, with Senior Jenna Henderson tossing the first nine strikes of game 1 and finishing with a season-high (and team season-high) 267. In game 3, Freshman Kelcie Mannon nearly matched her, knocking down all ten on her first seven shots and ending up with a season-high 266. Both Jenna (630) and Kelcie (643) finished over 600, and they were joined by Senior Elizabeth Hudock, who shot 183-205-215=603 in her first match back from illness. That marks the second straight match that the girls have had three 600s. Junior Katie Winch fired a 210 first game, helping the streaks to a big 989 single, and Junior Jacquelyn Nesbeth shot a very consistent 426, her highest set of the season.
Junior Avante Wilson got the boys off to a great start with a season-high 268 in game 1, and finished with the only 600 on the boys side at 643. Junior Eric Lawson (212), Senior Darryl Price (236), Senior Jake Irwin (212-205) and Freshman Ryan Monahan (205) all contributed big games, allowing the streaks to nearly average 200 on the day with a 2987 series. Senior Jack Zhang provided a big highlight, subbing in during game 3 and tossing his career-high game of 208.
Both teams have a busy stretch coming up: the Central Jersey Classic at Bowlero (Carolier) in North Brunswick on Saturday, the Snowball Classic in Mount Laurel on Monday (Martin Luther King Day, no school), and an away match at Hunterdon Central (West Hunterdon Lanes) on Tuesday. Let's keep the momentum going!
