Winch & lawson help streaks escape
west hunterdon
I doubt you could find many fans of the shot at West Hunterdon Lanes on the Warren Hills bowling teams today. Well, Juniors Katie Winch and Eric Lawson probably wouldn't complain too much: each shot a big number to help their teams to their 8th conference wins of the season.
Eric started off great, rolling an eight-strike 256 in game 1. He finished strong as well, firing 225 in game 3, which the Streaks won by a mere 18 pins, as Central's bowlers shot their highest game in over a month. Senior Jake Irwin carried the team in game 2, shooting a strong 231. Freshman Ryan Monahan (189-179) and Junior Avante Wilson (541 series) battled the conditions to at least a draw. Congrats to Antonio Furlano, getting his second shot at varsity action.
Freshman Kelcie Mannon got the Streaks girls off to a good start, shooting 234 in game 1 to help the team total 914. Game 2 was rough all around - only Katie (186) & Senior Elizabeth Hudock (184) were able to break 160. Katie took over in game 3, posting a team-high 236 game (for a 614 set) and bringing the Streaks back up over 900. Eliza Mahoney got her first varsity action, and Sofie-Lynn Schaffer got her second.
Back home on Thursday to face second-place Franklin, as both the boys & girls can lock up Skyland Championships.
